Christmas in July

A COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE PROJECT

The Community Involvement Committee needs your help to re-supply the pantry at Mainspring Schools!   You’re familiar with the work they do on a shoestring budget.  You make it possible for Santa Claus  to deliver presents to all the children at the school every Christmas.

THE NEED
The children and the school need our help now more than ever.  Here’s a note from Jason Gindele, Executive Directorof Mainspring Schools:

“Mainspring closed in March, but we have continued to support the at-risk children and families in our community. Many of our families have lost their jobs and are struggling to balance rent, utility bills, food, basic household items, at-home care for their children and the stress and anxiety of this uncertain situation. The team at Mainspring has been helping these families on a daily basis, despite being closed. This work has included food and household item delivery (see this example), direct financial aid, life guidance (including these resources), therapy and, of course, remote child instruction.

Unfortunately, as of this week, we have depleted our food pantry, and with this hardship expected to continue for some time, the timing of ACEA’s offer to help is incredible. ACEA has always been there for these children and families and, together, we want to continue to take care of them in these difficult times. Thank you!”

HOW  YOU CAN HELP
1.
Donate money:  directly to Mainspring Schools; through ACEA if you need an invoice or want the receipt to be issued from ACEA (we will make sure the money gets to them).

2. Buy items on the Wish List and send directly to the school.  (This is preferred to get the items there quickly and cut down on the number of people handling the items.).

3.  Tell others of the need!  Don’t forget when shopping on Amazon, go to Smile.Amazon.com and designate Mainspring as the charity you’d like to support.

Thank you for caring about your community, and for answering the call for help.
