“What Happens at the BBQ Social Stays at the BBQ Social!”

The smell of BBQ was in the air recently at our second annual BBQ Social! What an event! The Community Involvement Committee, chaired by Robert Allison, pulled off another great event.
It was all about networking and networking we did. Over 150 attendees enjoyed samples of BBQ cooked by 11 teams throughout Friday and Saturday at the VFW Hall. There was music, washers and horseshoes being thrown, card playing, raffles going on, lots of laughter, lots of eating, and of course lots of drinking going on, as only Texans can do.
The categories were brisket, ribs, chicken, and a jackpot which could be anything cooked on the grill or smoker. Everyone had a chance to vote on their favorite. The votes were tallied by the Pit Boss Gals and every team won a trophy! The winners are listed below. Speaking of the Pit Boss Gals, Kim Carrillo, Sarah Dunn-Cantu, and Kimber McDermott, they did an awesome job overseeing all the teams, the raffles, the judging, and taking care of everyone and everything! Thanks and Hats off to the Awesome Pit Boss Gals!
